What a whirlwind MBFW it was! I had infinite changes as between shows Alice Wesley – Smith & I were also shooting a story for Vogue.com.au ( to come out at the end of the month) and pulling clothes straight off the runway . I felt like a presenter at the Oscars or something – constantly changing. Still I felt so lucky to have all these amazing outfits to rock and great photographers to capture the looks. I love fashion week as I tend to wear looks during the day that I would usually wear at night. I often live in jeans and t-shirts during the day normally as I have a kid , so it’s kind of nice to have an opportunity to dress up for daytime. Not that it didn’t come without hazards! One skirt was way too hot for 28C- (I’m looking at you vinyl Miu Miu), I got stuck in a dress one night as there was no one present to help me unzip and a heel broke on a pair of shoes just before a show forcing me to go home. I kinda wished there was a video camera there so I could show my boyfriend because he would laugh and think it so funny – he always sarcastically paraphrases : “Beauty is pain babe, beauty is pain! ” Here is my MBFW diary …in outfits
First day saw me rocking this awesome Scanlan & Theodore suit (in store now). It was the perfect mix of comfortable (it’s stretchy !) ,modern and stylish. I paired it with a simple pair of Christian Louboutin patent pumps, a patent Prada bag , vintage necklace and Celine sunglasses.
I wore this gorgeous apllique Alex Perry dress (available now) to a few shows – it was such a cute detailed LBD . I paired it with Christian Louboutin heels and the same Prada clutch
I really loved this cute ensamble! There is nothing like a bit of sequin to brighten up a day! This shimmery Emma Mullholand skirt looked great paired with a Proenza Schouler top (available from Land’s End), Giuseppe Zanotti heels (available from Luisa Via Roma ) and Celine clutch
This Ellery dress (available now ) looked angelic on a rainy day and made me feel super fresh. These Gianvitto Rossi white pumps were super comfortable – I walked in them all day and had no pain at all! I paired this with my python Gucci jacket , vintage Versace bag, Prada sunglasses (available from Sunglass Hut )
This amazing pastel Ksubi shirt with beautiful gold button detailing comes from their best collection yet ! Out next season, it contains so much lust worthy stuff. I paired it here with grey Balenciaga leggings, Proenza Schouler skirt, Giuseppe Zanotti heels, my fave Celine clutch and reflective Sheriff & Cherry sunglasses. Mint 4 lyf!
I bought this vintage Emmanuel Ungaro suit a while ago & so I thought to rock the stripes! It is paired with a vintage necklace, vintage Versace bag and Gianvitto Rossi heels.
As much as I love this Miu Miu skirt (available from Net-a-Porter ), it was a little hot for unexpected 28C weather.I am going to rock it a lot come this winter as certainly does keep you warm. Thankfully I wore it with this leather bralet from Kahlo or I really would’ve been boiling. I finished the look with Casadei heels and this beautiful floral Lover bomber (available now).
Keep tuned for my Runway to Reality Vogue.com.au post coming up soon!
