Hermés hosted a swinging 50’s party at Sydney’s Coney Island Funnyland, a heritage listed , original 1930s funhouse, the only one of it’s kind left in the world. Like stepping back into time but with luxurious touches ,Hermés completed the space with an original band and singer , milkshake cocktails, vintage Cadillacs , delicious 50’s fare ( waldorf salad, mini goat cheese suffles, salted caramel ice cream! ), incredible dancers , ice cream spiders and cute rockabilly waiters. Guests slid down the long Devil’s Drop slides, did the bebop and the swing ,tried to stake the top of the spinning cone on the Joy Wheel and crashed dodgem cars replete with coiffed hair, cat-eye make up and Grease eat your heart out ensembles.
I finally got to wear the original 50s skirt purchased 5 years ago but never worn due to lack of occasion. I coupled it with a vintage angora cardigan, Giuseppe Zanotti pumps and ofcourse an Hermés scarf worn as a belt. It truly was a spectacular party and such rollicking good fun. Thank you Hermés for the swinging good times !
