Madison magazine coupled with Witchery to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation for the fourth year running. The event was held at the gorgeous Bennelong restaurant courtesy of chef Guillaume Brahimi who treated guests to delicious hors d’oeuvres and champagne. Even though the night was fun it had a serious goal and that is to spread awareness about this horrible disease. Ovarian cancer has one of the highest mortality rates among any cancer and is often not detected until it is too late to save the woman’s life. The White Shirt campaign raises about a million dollars for research each year and it’s Chairman/Co-Founder Associate Professor Thomas Jobling and CEo/Co-founder , the wonderful Liz Heliotis , work tirelessly in aid of this cause.
I feel very honoured to be one of the models featured in their spread this year. When my mother was my age she developed cervical cancer and she is only alive today because she was tested early and subsequently treated quickly . There is no early detection test with ovarian cancer. The White Shirt campaign is so wonderful because Witchery donates 100% of profits from each white shirt sold directly to the OCRF. Every girl needs a white shirt in her wardrobe and this year the shirts come in a variety of styles and fabrics so there is one to suit everyone! Stylish and altruistic – easy !
