While walking backstage on Friday I saw the beautiful Louise chilling among the racks before the show so I decided to ask her a few questions…
Tanja Gacic: Babe you have been doing so many shows this week! How tired are you right now?
Louise Van der Vorst: I’m so tired but this is my last show of the week so I am excited !I’m gonna go back to Newcastle and relax.
TG: When did you start doing fashion week?
LV: I think it’s be my 4 th fashion week this year.
TG: Are you enjoying it still?
LV:Yes I love it! I still love seeing all the designers and the new collections, hanging out with Rachel Rutt while she is knitting. We gossip and drink coffees and smoke cigarettes.
TG:What have your favourite shows been?
LV:Josh Goot was beautiful, Lover, Therese (Rawsthorne) was amazing and I really enjoyed doing Romance Was Born.
TG:Were you always interested in fashion?
LV: I was a bit of a tomboy but I did always love fashion, my mum would come home and bring Oyster magazine from the library so we’d always have a new old Oyster to read. I always wanted to be a fashion designer but then I got approached to do modeling so I thought it would be a good way of meeting people.
TG: Would you still like to be a designer?
LV: Yeah I think so. If anything i think i’ve become more aware of the real hard work behind it, but i love sewing for myself at the moment…maybe in a few years!
TG: What do you think you’d like to do after modeling apart from design? Do you ever feel the urge to escape to the countryside?
LV: I’m already living in Newcastle so I like chilling there…I don’t know, it’s a hard question. I think I might go back to school and study in Newcastle then pursue fashion design.
TG: You have great personal style so i’m sure you would do so well. Is there one lust worthy item that you are dying to buy?
LV: Wide leg pants. I think they are really elegant with a pair of heels and you don’t have to keep crossing your legs all the time like you do with a mini skirt ! (laughs)
