Another beautiful sunny day in Rosemount Australian Fashion Week land yesterday and 9 am found me standing in line to see the hotly anticipated Dion Lee show at the magnificent Opera house. An incredible venue for an incredible designer who knows what he does best and always seems to tweak it with new details. Impeccable tailoring, fabric and cut are a given with Mr Lee but what i like the most about his clothes is the little details he adds to the obvious that take it from something seen before to something exquisite. The clothes’ lines worked beautifully with the visually arresting architectural lines of the Opera house’s windows and the Dion Lee girl reminded me of a kind of Blade Runner futuristic android replicant who is almost human but perfect in every way. I am completely lusting after his sexy black dress that will complete my transformation into Sean Young’s character and the tight pencil skirts, jackets and detailed pants were something to covet too.An inspiring way to spend a Thursday morning not to mention that the combination of sunlight and the mirrored runway worked like George Hamilton’s foil tanner on my face. A show and a tan and all before brunch!
After the show i bumped into Mark Vassalo, the creative director behind Dion Lee,Lover,Romance was Born,Josh Goot and Camilla and Marc.Marky was totally colour popping in his outfit and super cool shades by Sherrif and Cherry. I love the magic touch he adds to shows as he seems to always bring a sense of elegance, drama and energy that leaves you feeling like you’ve had an experience .
